How to Allow Ads on Dong Knows Tech

Getting “false positive” messages after having allowed ads on the site?

Adblockers addressed here are those that block ads at the browsers’ level. Note that some browsers, such as Firefox or Safari, have built-in protection features that also block ads when customized in certain ways.

If you have a network- or device-level adblocking, you might still get warnings even though you have allowed the site on your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.)

If you’re experiencing “false positive” adblocker notices, that means you have blocked more than you are aware of, possibly including legit items that make a system work well.

In that case please check the following:

  1. If you use a specific DNS service, customize it accordingly or use a generic one, such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8. More on that in this post about DNS.
  2. If you use a router or firewall unit with ad-blocking capabilities, such as the AmpliFi Alien or the Firewalla Blue/Gold, adjust the device’s setting to allow ads on this website or turn the feature off.
  3. If you have a device-level ad-blocking, adjust it to allow this website, too. Often, your computer is using a custom hosts file. If so, edit the file appropriately, or disable the file temporarily by renaming it.
