Access Points

An access point, a.k.a wireless access point — often abbreviated as AP or WAP — is a standard Wi-Fi broadcaster.

There are standalone WAPs or those embedded inside routers to turn them into Wi-Fi routers. This section of the site is about the formers.

Each standard AP adds Wi-Fi of standards it supports (Wi-Fi 5/6/6e or 7) to a (non-Wi-Fi) network or extends the the coverage via a network cable.
