Here’s some exciting news for those looking for an advanced yet simple hard-charging station: the new Nexode Pro Series, unveiled today by UGREEN, the popular Chinese accessories and NAS maker.
This new lineup continues the company’s Nexode Retractable chargers introduced last year and includes two new chargers: the Nexode Pro 160W Charger with Retractable Cable and the Nexode Pro 300W Desktop Charger.

UGREEN Nexode Pro Series: Fast charging made visible and app-manageable
Each of the two new chargers in the Nexode Pro Series comes with a screen that, among other things, shows charging status in real time, and, according to UGREEN, both feature its GaNInfinity charging technology for better efficiency.
Tip
GaN, short for the element gallium nitride, is an advanced semiconductor material used in chargers (or power adapters) to deliver high power output in a small physical size with less heat generation. It’s ideal for USB chargers/adapters designed to power multiple devices simultaneously.
For safety, both also feature the company’s SmartCharge Power Distribution and Thermal Guard technology that “intelligently optimizes power delivery and monitors internal temperatures up to 200 times per second.”
Most interestingly, UGREEN says that the two incorporate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling users to monitor and manage them, including remote shutdown, via the UgreenConnect app, with over-the-air (OTA) updates for long-term enhancements.
Other than that, the two differ in physical design and power output.
UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W Charger with Retractable Cable: Compact and convenient
The Nexode Pro 160W Charger with Retractable Cable (model X776) is a compact adapter designed to be snapped onto a power socket. It has a total power output budget of 160W and comes with two USB-C ports (C1 and C2) and one USB-A port.

Additionally, it has a built-in retractable USB-C cable that extends up to 27.6 inches (70 cm) and offers eight adjustable lengths. In all, it can charge up to four devices at a time.
The table below shows its detailed hardware specs compared to those of the Nexode Pro 300W Desktop Charger.

It’s interesting how this Chinese company has slowly grown over the years, not by pretending to be *not* Chinese. Maybe TP-Link can learn a lesson?
Maybe, Don! 🙂
