Western Digital’s SanDisk Professional 26TB G-Drive is totally different from the SSD version. It’s a much larger external drive, uses a traditional (enterprise-class) hard drive as storage, and is not bus-powered. In return, it has much higher capacity and much lower cost-over-storage ratio. This 26TB version is the latest variant … Continue Reading
Western Digital today unveiled five new external storage devices, all based on its latest 26TB “enterprise-class Ultrastar 7200 RPM HDDs for high performance, reliability, and fast read/write speeds.” These new devices are massive in storage space, yet more significant is that they are the first following the company’s decision to … Continue Reading

With solid-state drives (SSDs) getting more affordable, there are fewer and fewer reasons to get hard-drive-based portable storage. On top of that, all … Continue Reading
The WD Black SN850 is not new, Western Digital first unveiled in late 2020, and it became available in early 2021 in naked and heatsink versions—of which Samsung made a rivaling version of 980 Pro in late 2021. The point is, for different reasons, I failed to review on time. It … Continue Reading
If you’re looking for a relatively affordable way to upgrade your latest gaming rig, the new WD Black SN770—first announced on February 2nd, 2022—is an excellent deal. The internal drive proved to be one of the fastest PCIe drives in my testing—I used the 1TB version, which shares the same performance … Continue Reading
