SFP and SFP+

SFP, short for small form-factor pluggable, is a network interface module format used in telecommunication and data communication. It’s also available via an enhanced version called SFP+.

In data communication, small form-factor pluggable shares the same Ethernet standard—it’s the alternative to the popular BASE-T form factor. SFP generally delivers up to 1Gbps for a local network and SFP+ is 10x faster (10Gbps).
