Access Points

A Wi-Fi access point, a.k.a wireless access point or access point—often abbreviated as AP or WAP—is a standard Wi-Fi host device that broadcasts and receives Wi-Fi signals to and from multiple Wi-Fi devices simultaneously.

Wi-Fi access points exist as standalone units or embedded inside standard routers to turn them into Wi-Fi routers. This section of the site is about the formers.

Each standard AP adds Wi-Fi of standards it supports (Wi-Fi 5/6/6e,7 or 8) to a (non-Wi-Fi) network or extends the the coverage via a network cable.
