The connection to the server below may take a few seconds to establish. After that:
- Log in using the following credentials:
- Username: DKT-User
- Password: DongKnowsTech!
- Note: If you see the perpetual spinning wheel (lasting longer than a few seconds), switch to the Firefox browser to log in, as mentioned above. Do that first before thinking the password doesn’t work or any other negative thoughts.
- Click on the File Station icon. (If you don’t see it, open the Main Menu by clicking on the button at the top left corner, then hit File Station.) Then, right-click on the file you want and pick the appropriate option. Keep this page open afterward, or the process may fail. Before thinking negative thoughts, make sure you:
- follow these A-B-C steps closely to perform the upgrade on a PC. Or
- read this post on installing Windows 11 on a Mac if you’re wondering about the ISOs with “…Intel_Mac…” in the name.
- Note: If your estimated time is longer than a few hours, cancel it, log out, and try again later.

Greetings Dong,
i have been trying to dl “Win11_25H2_English_All_Hardware_DKT.iso” for 18 hours. Best attempt failed at 2.5 GB.
A: Is it possible to split the file with 7zip or something like that. That way, we can dl 1 GB chunks, and reassemble them. Less chances of failure – IMHO? I feel, giving that option, is worth the effort from your side (if you have space, and time). Have read all the comments on the dl page, and this approach was not discussed. In the mean time, i shall keep (re)trying for the 7gb file.
B: i leave my Firefox browser undisturbed (avg dl speed is 100-150 kbps). However, after 1-2 hours, i notice the dl portal logs me out, and about 30 mins later – my dl fails. Is there something i need to do, to keep the dl portal “alive” – like occasionally click the file station icon…?
Like everyone else, huge “thank you for this free service”.
There are simply too many concurrent downloads, Roy. As mentioned, you should disconnect if the estimate is over a few hours and try again at a later time. There’s no rush. If everyone does that, everyone will download fast, but if everyone thinks of themselves, everyone will suffer. Generally, when it comes to tech, make sure you are aware of the details.
Not sure if you considered it so I thought I’d suggest it: creating a torrent would take the burden off the server and distribute it to those who had downloaded it.
When you break a file into many pieces to transmit, Paul, a lot of things could happen to one or all of those pieces. When you reassemble it at the receiving end, if something has happened, the file is no longer what it is and you have no idea what happned to what piece(s). The larger the original file, the more pieces you’ll need and the more problematic things can get. It’s never a good idea to do that with a ISO file that contains a operating system which itself includes thousands of files.
That is not how torrents work. Either you get the full, hashed, file(s) or in this case the ISO (single file) or it never shows as completed so you know the DL hasn’t completed. The ‘pieces’ are just how the single file is planned to transfer by the little torrent file, there aren’t thousands of file pieces floating around your computer. This is how OS ISO’s, especially Linux, are officially distributed. There is not a concern of corruption or missing files or any of the complications you are concerned about any more so than any type of downloading method. It is simply a great way to distribute the load and enable fast downloading.
Which is why Linux tends to be buggy when you get it via torrent, Paul. Folks just shug that off and download anew. I wasn’t born yesterday. When you use a single piece, you know exactly what piece is broken. That’s the point.
I don’t mean to seem ungrateful, as you’re providing an excellent resource here for free – thank you, it really is appreciated – but the downoad system is soul-destroying.
After successfully downloading 24H2 on Thursday afternoon (13.20-16.50 UK time), and installing it on the HP 650 G1 which I’m typing on now, I was going to put the same version on two further HP laptops (another 650 G1 and a 4530s), but then noticed 25H2 had become available, which I need to upgrade two HP 255 G7s already running ‘patched’ versions of 24H2 from another source, but doing so poorly…
….consequently, I’ve now attempted to download 25H2 on three successive days:
Friday. Started at 13.20 (UK), with an initial estimate of 5h30m. Download began at 400-600Kb/s, quickly increased to 600Kb/s-1Mb/s for a short period, then slowed, first dropping to 300Kb/s, then 200Kb/s, finally 100-150Kb/s, were it remained. After 5 hours it reached 5 Gb, but estimated another 5h-5h30m to go, and had to be abandoned.
Saturday. Started at 08.00 (UK) with an eight-hour ‘window’ before the server’s scheduled maintenance shut-down. Again, 5h30m estimated time. Download began at 300Kb/s, quickly dropped to 200Kb/s, then 100-150Kb/s, where it remained for the duration. It had been hoped that around the 13.00-13.30 mark the speeds would increase, but they didn’t. The 5Gb point was reached shortly before 15.00 when the server shut down.
Sunday (today). Started at 15.08, shortly after the server came back online. Again, 5h30m estimate, download began at 300Kb/s, dropping quickly to 200Kb/s. After an hour, with 1 Gb downloaded, speed was down to 50-60Kb/s and an estimate of 1d5h – now, after a further hour, same speed, 1d4h shown, so about to abandon.
It’s not just that I’ve spent 15 hours downloading unsuccessfully, but also that it’s affecting everyone else trying to download at the same time, because their speeds will be similarly be slowed by the downloaded 11 Gb that’s ended up ‘wasted’…
Which is why, Andy, as mentioned above, you should cancel the download and try again later. There’s no rush and there are other options if you can’t wait.
An update:
After half-a-dozen aborted attempts started at various times throughout Monday – all of which showed between 10h30m to 1d5h – I managed to successfully download 25H2 on Tuesday morning (started at 08.00 UK) in 4h30m.
Thank you! Now installed on three of the four laptops mentioned above. Fourth (4530s) failed twice, unfortunately.
This post might help with the 4th one, Andy. Good luck!
I donated and I still do not have access to KO-FI.
Please advise
Generally, a donation means you don’t get anything physical in return, Mark. Not sure where you got the idea of the otherwise from. Here, please pay attention to the text. We don’t sell anything. Thanks for the support!

Read the post, geoffroy!
Over the past year $7.00 is taken out of my PayPal account each month for access to your software, but when I try to log in to your site I get “this account cannot be found”???
Looks like you need to log in with Ko-Fi, John. You don’t have an account with us. Thanks for the support!
I have an HP Envy running Windows 10, which is all up to date with updates.
I downloaded 24H2 (twice) successfully, but am getting the following message when I try opening “setup.exe”:
“The file ‘autorun.dll’ could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue.
Error code is [0x7E]”
Read the post, Allen. This has happened before with other commenters who didn’t read the post carefully.
Since you likely won’t read, anyway: If you actually downloaded the file successfully then you missed the details in the instructions.
Hi Dong,
I went through all your troubleshooting methods, including all the cmd prompt entries, and I still get that same error message.
Can you please guide me on what else may be the issue? I do NOT want to do the “going nuclear” option…
Thanks
Two things, Allan:
1. The ISO you download might not have been completed; check the size vs. the one on the server. If so, download it again.
2. You might have a third-party ISO handler; if so, follow this step *closely*.
We don’t do tech support, but generally I know that paying attention helps. Good luck!
Hi Dong,
I was able to finally get past the error message and successfully install Win 11. I followed your step of using “open with” File Explorer.
Appreciate all your help!
There you go! Imagine the amount of time you’d have saved with just a bit of attention. π
Downloaded the 24H2 to try and update my HP Spectre X360 and get error message the UXLIB.DLL is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error
Make sure you read the instructions, Craig, and that the ISO is fully downloaded.
Maybe good to include all the MD5 hashes to let people check that the file has completely been downloaded
I keep getting the message: ”
Cannot connect to
dktdownloads.
Please make sure dktdownloads is powered on and connected to the Internet.
QuickConnect is not enabled.”
I’m on Firefox, I’m not trying to do it on during during the off-hours, and I tried it today (not during off-hours) and today, not just once. Is it a problem on my end or the site’s end?
We had some issues, Eddy. The server is back on now!
Upgrade Started Then Stopped Due To
Seemed to start fine, then stopped for “We couldn’t upgrade the system reserved partition”
I have an older HP AIO that had mother board replaced some years back, and other hardware changed. Is upgrading this older unit just not worth it? Also won’t do full system image back up. Just a home computer, nothing super important on it. Thoughts??
PS your ISO file works fantastic on my office laptop and desktop. Thanks for your hard work
Dan
It seems the computer’s drive has more partitions than expected. You need to fix that first, Daniel.
“Click on the File Station icon. (If you donβt see it, open the Main Menu by clicking on the button at the top left corner, then hit File Station.)”
I can’t see the File Station Icon and I can’t see the button at the top left corner either, what’s wrong, what can I do?
It’s there Paul. The button is at the top left corner of the logged in area. It shapes like four little squares stacked on top of one another.
It’s OK, I hovered over what looked like a “screen” image and it all became clear. I initially thought that “top left corner” referred to the page rather than the image which is not exactly labelled as the “logged in area”, or anything for that matter, it’s just a little confusing.
Please comment how your iso is different than flyby11 which I have tried 7 times and it fails. It uses the Windows Server approach and professes great success but does not promise it. I have an older HP 2000 laptop original WIN 7. Now WIN 10 and it runs fine.
Thanks
Check out this post, Dick. My ISOs will work. At the worst, you’ll need to go nuclear and upgrade it without keep your data.
So awesome thanks, what does this mean for windows updates please?
Does it need to stay off in case MS put in a blocker for hardware?
You can use Windows like normal, Hugh. More here.
Is there any way to speed up the download? It is taking so long I keep loosing connection.
As mentioned, Matthew, try later at another time or you can pick a different download options.
Ive downloaded the file but it refused to instal saying this PC doesnt current meet the windows 11 requirement and the reason is the processor doesent support version of the windows. PROCESSOR IS INTEL ICORE 5 7TH GEN. PLS ADVICE. though i have windows 11 on the system already but when i try to update it is showing me my system is missing important security updates. telling me that ive reached the end life of the windows that i should update to a newer version
As mentioned, make sure you follow the instructions and follow the steps closely.
Could you explain the difference between the two ISO’s: Win11_23H2_English_All_Hardware and
Windows_23H2_En_Intel_Mac
Which should I download?
Former: this post.
Latter: this post.
Thank you for the reply.
I used the Intel Mac ISO and installed on a Win 10 Lenovo laptop. Seems to work fine.
Any concerns or should I install the correct ISO?
If you upgrade from Windows 10, either will work the same. The Mac ISO won’t work if you already have Windows 11 (of an earlier version) on your machine. So, you’re fine.
Thank you for the peace of mind.
π
Been trying to download this for a week now. So slow the downloads take 24hr + and invariably get broken before completion. I give up.
Yeap, as mentioned, if the estimate time is longer than a few hours, it’s best to log out and wait. There are over 50 folks trying to download concurrently.
Hi Dong!
I just wanted to say that I downloaded the 24H2 file overnight and it WORKED! It was so slow… but I understand…. too many downloads. Thank you! My old Dell is now better than ever and most importantly I know I can keep using it. Windows 11 looks nice and I like the middle menu…. Thanks again for what you’re doing! Just so you know you’re appreciated.
Hannah
π
thanks Dong for your work on this. I was hoping to save my family a few quid by not having to replace our old PCs and laptops. however… I’m also getting the spinning wheel of blue.
I first tried with my version of FF -fail, I then installed a fresh copy of ff via the installer from your link at top of page – still just getting the spinning wheel of blue.
I copied and pasted the user/pwd to ensure no mistakes, I also tried typing them. Fail.
Ive been tryng for a few hours now, is there any chance this could be due to too many concurrent users?
cheers
The login should work fine, Michael, espeically if you use Firefox. The number of concurrrent users won’t affect the login since that process has its own reserved bandwidth. Try reseting your browser or use a private/icognito window.
Tried again and iso download failed again resulting in a 4kb file which is corrupted.
I am runnung on fast fibre here ie 150mbps download.
ISO download failed after three hours, was downloading fine then just showed failed??
Any idea other than pay for a faster download??
Generally that means there was an interruption in your connection, like a router or modem restart. If the estimated time is longer than a few hours you should log out and wait.
see my other note. No drop outs in router etc, just fails within a short time but download states 6 hours.
THANK YOU Mr. Ngo,
I DLed the 22H Win-11 iso file while literally memorizing your instructions. Average from the free server was between 400/k and 950k/s. And, BTW login went perfectly with cut & paste. Those who complain just can’t read.
First, I cloned my c: drive to ensure all went well. I opened the iso file with explorer, and as instructed, ran the setup file. I DID NOT allow updates during the install and all went smoothly. After a few reboots, everything came back perfectly. No missing programs or issues.
Those began after I allowed updates to run and install. NOTHING to do with your file, it’s typical Microsoft c*ap, do it our way – or don’t do it at all.
Your kindness and time spent “CORRECTING” a Microsoft money grab with the nonsensical hardware requirements is GREATLY APPRECIATED by this 72 year old ex-mainframe computer geek.
π
My processor is not supported for windows 11 according to the pc health check app. My processor is intel core i3-5005 CPU @ 2.00Ghz
If i download the windows 11 above, will it work on my pc?
(My TPM Specification version is 1.2 and Secure boot is not enabled on my pc)
Thanks.
Read this post, Samuel!
I have try several data’s try to log-in bud I only waiting for ours. Do I something wronge ???
I have check the inlog names also several times.
Thanks
Read the post, Henk.
The account or password is invalid. Please try again.
Nope doesn’t work for everyone.
That means you didn’t enter them correctly, John. The password is case sensitive and has to be 100% correct. Pay a bit attention and you’ll know what you missed, or just copy and paste (make sure you don’t include any extra space). In all seriousness, if you can’t enter the provided username and password successfully, maybe getting a new computer with Windows 11 already installed is a better route. Good luck!
I just wanted to confirm that the ISOs all worked as intended, as long as you opt not to get the updates during the setup process.
I initially downloaded the Windows 22H2 here, and it took me over 3 hours. After that, I elected to be a Ko-fi supporter and downloaded the rest in less than 10 minutes. So worth it!
You can also upgrade from one release to a newer one. I’ve upgraded from 22H2 to 23H2 and then to 24H2 with no issue. And you can upgrade to any of them from Windows 10. Pretty neat!
Thank you, Dong!
π
Dong, first things first: thank you so much for making the Win 11 ISOs available! Thought I would share my experience with the free downloads (and I fully understand and appreciate that those who use the free download link are sharing download bandwidth with everyone else on that link). I started several days ago with trying the 23H2 download. It failed every time part way through the download, after downloading for quite a few hours at around 110KB/sec (yest more evidence of the shared link syndrome). Not sure why this attempt failed several times. Then I switched to the 22H2 ISO, and the same thing happened (mid-download failure), although the download speeds were higher, around 250-300KB/sec. This morning, I switched yet again, to the 21H2 ISO, hoping that the marginally smaller file size would make a difference. FWIW, this download completed, and at faster download speeds. Success at last! Anyway, THANKS AGAIN, for this download and all your great reviews and info.
Thanks for letting me know, Steve. It’s hard to manage it considering the number of folks who want to download… Again, it’s a dedicated cable connection with almost 50Mbps of upload speed with 500Kbps reserved for the login process, so it’s fast enough to upload 6GB in less than 30 minutes. If you see your download estimate to be longer than a few hours, I’d recommend logging out and wait for a bit… There’s no rush since you can still use Windows 10 until late 2025.
I’m not sure why your download didn’t finish but many things can happen in that long period of time including the fact the ISP might change the WAN IP of the connection, which causes a brief disconnection, etc.
Thank you Dong for sharing, but please, open the tap!
The tap is open, Giacomo. As mentioned, it has limited bandwidthβit’s hosted by a dedicated Cable connection. It’s fast enough for you to download one ISO in less than 20 minute if you’re the only one person downloading it, but the more concurrent downloads the slower it gets.
Generally it works best with Firefox.
I am trying to download an ISO, but after entering the credentials all i see is a spinning white line in a blue dot (for 16 hours).
do I need to do something else?
You missed the first sentence on the page, Bruce. If you don’t pay attention to the details, chances are your upgrade might fail, too.
The password does not work!
It does for everyone else. Make sure you didn’t miss anything, Terrance.
